Nathan Halewas born June 6 1775 in Coventry Connecticut. His dad was a very good farmer and made a nice living. Nathan's Hale's mom was the daughter of twelve children and also had twelve children of her own. This left Nathan mother less at age twelve. As a single dad and 2 kids to raise he married a wealthy widow. In september 1769 Nathan and his brother start there studies at yale college. In September 1773 Nathan and his brother both graduate from Yale college. In october 1773 Nathan excepts a teaching postion in Hamden by the Connecticut River. A couple year's later in July 1 1775 Hale reciver a comminsion to be a first Lieutenant for the Connecticut General Assembly. That same year he is with the army in Boston. What made Nathan a Patriot was that he really cared about hios job of as an officer because his diaries said that he spent most of his time reading books on how to be a better general and he played with his men and drilled them to be the best that they could be. Another thing that makes him a patriot is that he did really brave thing's under really harsh times. One expert on who wrote the sitwe I'm using said that he was a patriot not by what battles he won but the situation's he did what he did under. September 22, 1776 – Nathan is hanged in New York by the British for spying. 1925 - Nathan Hale is commemorated on the U.S. postage stamp. We do not know were he was burried his body was thrown in an unmarked grave like they did back trhen.
